Elaina M. Kenyon, Board Member, RTC-SRA
Elaina M. Kenyon has been a member of the RTP chapter of the Society for Risk Analysis since 1992 and has served as its treasurer since late 1994. Dr. Kenyon is a Toxicologist and principle investigator in the Pharmacokinetics Branch of the Experimental Toxicology Division at NHEERL/EPA. Her research interests are in the general areas of xenobiotic metabolism and disposition (animal to human extrapolation), and development and validation of physiologically based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) models. Since she came to EPA in 1995, her research has focused on these areas for arsenic and its methylated metabolites. Immediately prior to joining the EPA, Dr. Kenyon was a postdoctoral fellow at the Chemical Industry Institute of Toxicology. Dr. Kenyon received her Ph.D. from the University of Massachusetts in 1990. Her graduate work was followed by two years as a research associate at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center and one year as an associate with Environ Corporation. Dr. Kenyon is a member of the Society of Toxicology and the national SRA and is board certified in general toxicology. She also serves on the Scientific Advisory Board for toxic air pollutants for the state of North Carolina and on the editorial board of the journal Toxicology.
