Research Triangle Chapter
of the Society for Risk Analysis

Yuchao Zhao, Board Member, RTC-SRA

Yuchao (Maggie) Zhao is currently a post doc in CIIT centers for health research. Her current research is to develop biological mechanism based computational modeling to evaluate dose response at low dose ionizing radiation. She got her PhD in environmental engineering from North Carolina State University in August, 2003. Her dissertation was on probabilistic modeling of variability and uncertainty in urban air toxics emissions. She developed a statistically robust method to quantify variability and uncertainty in censored urban air toxic emission factor data and applied it to develop probabilistic urban air toxic emission inventory. Her research interests are in the general fields of uncertainty analysis, air quality, and exposure/risk analysis to occupational and environmental pollutants.

Yuchao Zhao hopes the Chapter could provide an opportunity for more interdisciplinary researchers to collaborate and to further identify more potential research area in risk assessment. The Chapter should encourage young researchers, graduate students and post docs to join in.
